“It takes a village to raise a child.”

Make it stand out.

  • Dream it.

We will have a 4:1 instructor to student ratio, for every 3 students, and 1 child from the club staff community will be given the opportunity to be joined on the youth Stage 1-4 programme.

Upon the necessary staff at the club attaining Instructor status, funds will be diverted to a Youth Sailing Fund, which will be used to send these youth through the certified sailing scheme in Kilifi.

  • Build it.

50% of fees paid for courses will be put back into capacity building.

From this, 30% will focus on building staff and instructor capacity.

In 2022 with the base student enrolment for adults and youth, 1 staff member can be trained to Royal Yachting Association (RYA) instructor level by 2022.

By supporting the process, and in keeping with the vision, by 2024 the club and sailing school can apply to become either an affiliated RYA club or an official RYA Training Centre.

  • Grow it.

The Sailing School will be a catalyst for uniting sailors across East Africa through:

    - hosted holiday sailing camps

    - races and regattas

    - sailing workshops

    - a social spot for water sports, food, drink and more.

By connecting local schools, (Braeburn, Aga Khan, Jaralam etc), the sailing school aims to connect children across the city.
